Happy Birthday Sgt Pepper!

.

My Human is old. She read the news today (oh boy) and learned that today was the 40th anniversary of the release of the Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. She doesn't actually remember that day because she was only a 6 months old hairless puppy then, but she has a brother who is 15 years older that she is and he bought that album (as they used to call those things). My Human grew up hearing all about Rita, Vera, Chuck, and Dave.

My Human also remembers the release of the movie Star Wars that just had its 30th anniversary. She saw that movie at the theater shortly after it was release. Her brother even bought her a light blue Star Wars t-shirt with C3PO and R2D2 on it. If she had that t-shirt now, she wouldn't fit into it.

I over heard my Human telling her friend Large Oh that she realized that the amount of years between when Gone With the Wind to her birth year was less than the amount of years from the release of Star Wars to now.

Why do humans always think about these stupid things?

Oh, yeah...my Human wanted you to know that this is not actually a picture of her but a picture of her paternal grandmother and her g-ma's sister a long, long, long time ago.

Old Human Photos

.

This week my mind has been blank on what to blog about. I still am suffering from bloggers block. I have a couple ideas bottlenecked in my Tubeybrain, but I'm not ready to post them yet.

So...I decided to post a couple photos from my Human's collection. My Human's father passed away about 15 years ago. My Human then got a box of old family photos from his side of the family. Most of the photos were not labeled, and she doesn't know anyone who can fill in the blanks. The two pictures below are of my Human's paternal grandmother and her sister. They were taken around 1900 in rural Nebraska. That's all my Human knows.

Donald & Skippy Dog

Around 15 years ago, my Human got a box of old family photos from her father's mother's side of the family. Many of the photos were unique. She has a picture of her paternal grandfather standing on his head circa 1900. And a few photos of ther paternal grandmother clowing around with her sister in "western" clothing circa 1900.

Unfortunately, many of the photos were not labeled, so my Human isn't exactly sure who the people were. Once such example is the photo on this blog entry of "Donald & Skippy Dog." This photo was labeled with this title, but my Human doesn't know who Donald or Skippy Dog was. And anyone who may know is probably long departed.

My advice to humans is that they should label all of their photos. Can you imagine how sad some human would be 100 years from now if she found a photo of me and didn't know who I was?
