Happy Birthday Sgt Pepper!

.

My Human is old. She read the news today (oh boy) and learned that today was the 40th anniversary of the release of the Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. She doesn't actually remember that day because she was only a 6 months old hairless puppy then, but she has a brother who is 15 years older that she is and he bought that album (as they used to call those things). My Human grew up hearing all about Rita, Vera, Chuck, and Dave.

My Human also remembers the release of the movie Star Wars that just had its 30th anniversary. She saw that movie at the theater shortly after it was release. Her brother even bought her a light blue Star Wars t-shirt with C3PO and R2D2 on it. If she had that t-shirt now, she wouldn't fit into it.

I over heard my Human telling her friend Large Oh that she realized that the amount of years between when Gone With the Wind to her birth year was less than the amount of years from the release of Star Wars to now.

Why do humans always think about these stupid things?

Oh, yeah...my Human wanted you to know that this is not actually a picture of her but a picture of her paternal grandmother and her g-ma's sister a long, long, long time ago.

It's Turbo Birthday Day!!!

.

I'm interupting my Saturday ritual of featuring husky logos 'cause it's my BIRTHDAY!!! It's my 4th Birthday!!! Woooo!!!!! I don't know what's going to happen for my birthday extravaganza. My Human's friend Large Oh said that she'd come over from Louisville to take me out to a duck dinner if she comes into a large sum of money. She better get working on that.

BIRTHDAY!
BIRTHDAY!!
BIRTHDAY!!!
BIRTHDAY!!!!
BIRTHDAY!!!!!

So, I hope all my doggie friends (and other friends) are going to celebrate this day in an appropriate manner. You're all invited to come over, but you'll have to bring your own snow, as the snow thief has taken ours.

Happy Tubey Bloggaversary!

.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of me starting my blog. In observance, I'm reposting my first blog entry.

I made Misha Meep help me set up this blog while our Human was away for the day doing whatever it is that she does all day.

I live in the middle of the state of Missouri with 5 other dogs. I'm the most important one, of course. I'm the only one who the Human got as a puppy.

The others are: Fargo, Aurora, Misha, Niki, and Lex. That is the order that I like them best. Misha thinks he's the boss of all of us!

I Got Nothin'...

.

I wanted to talk about a product my Human found in the grocery store, but I can't find any information on it by googling...What is this mysterious product? Philadelphia® Cream Cheese Cheesecake Mix! It's sold in tubs the size of a normal Cool-Whip tub. It's more proof that humans have a desire to be lard asses.

My Human and her friend Large Oh think that if the KFC® company (aka Kentucky Fried Chicken®) sold deep fried chicken skin, they'd make even more money. No doubt they are correct!

So, because I don't have a picture of the cheesecake product, I'll subsitute a picture of Lex's upside down head. He's a lard ass, so a good substitute. My Human likes to say that both she and Lex gained weight after he was neutered.

Bye Bye Famous Barr

.

Way back a long time ago (today), there used to be a chain of department stores in the St Louis, MO area called Famous Barr. Of course the St Louisans call it "Famous and Barr," but they're always saying stupid things like "fark" for "fork" and "sharts" for "shorts." And when they aren't saying that, they're always asking what high school you went to. (And if you don't believe me, ask my Human's friend Large Oh.)

Well, Famous Barr and a bunch of other stores like Marshall Fields (Chicago), are becoming Macy's. (Stupid humans always subsuming things!!!) I don't know anything really about Macy's, but I hate balloons!!! Does this mean that we will all have to change our names to "Macy's?" Or maybe "Wal-mart?"

I've never been in our local Famous Barr. My Human refuses to claim that I'm a service dog!

Yelling!

So I was yelling at Lex today. You probably know by know that it was because he was being stupid. My Human (who I think is stupid) decided to take a couple pictures of me before tossing me in my box. What's up with that????

It's 74 degrees Fahrenheit today. The stupid public school system decided early this morning to end the day about half way through because it was "too hot." I heard my Human discussing this (in the manner described as being that of a female canine) with her friend Large Oh. Now, my Human doesn't have any of those stupid hairless puppies, so she really shouldn't care one way or another about this. But she's all worked up over the school system. She'll probably blather on about this in her blog at some point. I heard my Human mention that this was a soap box issue for her. I hope so. I kind of like the taste of soap.

Apply Directly to the Forehead!!!

Large Oh (the friend of my Human) insists that HeadOn is really all it's cracked up to be...

Speaking of my Human, I think she's losing it!

Enough about the stupid humans, now on to important things...Pictures of us!

Lack of Electricity is Stupid

My Human's friend Large Oh sometimes posts on my blog. Yes, she's stupid and she spends far too much time trying to irritate me and for some reason Woof Woof. She also spends a lot of time talking about her cat. Her parents live in St. Louis, MO and they have been without electricity for almost a week!

Some big stupid storms blew through that town about a week ago and did all sorts of damage and knocked power out for most people in that area.

What I don't understand is why humans keep getting surprised by nature. Just stupid, I guess. I'm sure that prior to this storm the humans in charge of these things felt that they had a pretty good emergency preparedness plan. Guess they were wrong.

We heard on our local news that our local authorities said that we would not have the same problems than St Louis did if a big storm blows in. For some reason I don't believe them.

Pussyfoot

My Human has a degree in linguistics & English. So she gets curious about stupid words. She made her stupid friend, Large Oh, research the meaning of the word "pussyfoot." Large Oh has a lot of free time currently because she no longer works at the circus.

Anyway...

Teddy Roosevelt seems to have either coined or popularized pussyfoot in about 1905. Meaning crafty, cunning, or moving in a cautious manner, it refers to the way cats can walk stealthily by drawing in their claws and walking on the pads of their feet. It's very unlikely that the redoubtable William Eugene "Pussy-foot" Johnson, a crusading American do-gooder, has anything to do with the expression. Johnson was nicknamed "Pussyfoot" because "of his catlike policies in pursuing lawbreakers" when he served as chief special officer in the Indian Territory. Later his nickname, in the form of pussyfooters, was applied to all advocates of Prohibition., While crusading in England, fresh from his triumph of securing the passing of Prohibition in the U.S., Johnson was blinded by a stone thrown by a crusading drunk.

Sneaky Roo Roo

Aurora is a sneaky little girl. She likes tricking us into giving up something that we want. Example, I love the center tube of a roll of toilet paper. My Human usually gives it to me to destroy. But Roo Roo will stare at me and make me so agitated that I charge her. She'll then calmly take the tube and run off with it.

Roo Roo really thinks her cuteness is so irresistible to others that she can apply husky mind control whenever and wherever she decides too. A good example of this was when my Human's friend Large Oh was visiting last year for my Human's birthday. Large Oh had made a birthday cake. It was a white cake with cherry filling and chocolate chips. After the cake was finish, Large Oh and my Human were eating it in the living room. Roo Roo climbed up on Large Oh's lap and lay upside down to encourage belly rubs. Roo Roo was hoping that she was so adorable that Large Oh would set down her cake. Large Oh did find Roo Roo awful cute, but she liked her cake more. So, she stretched her arm out so that the cake was out of Roo Roo's reach. Roo Roo kept stretching her body and Large Oh kept stretching her arm. Ultimately, Large Oh won the battle and Roo Roo didn't get any cake.

Balance

I am really liking the new sofas or couches or what ever the stupid humans are calling them. The photo on the left is me on the old sofa-couch. You will notice that I'm not on the back of it. I like being on the back of the sofa-couch because its just about the highest point in the house. When I'm up there I have a clear vantage point to see everyone and everythin. And my voice really carries when I am yelling and telling everyone that they are stupid.

In this photo on the right, I am on the back of the new sofa-couch. I'm a happy Tubey here. I'm staring at my Human's cell phone. I'm just waiting for it make that stupid noise. Humans are easily conditioned to do certain activities when they hear specific sounds. I'd imagine that all of your humans have some sort of stupid phone that they like to spend time on blah-blah-blahing about all sorts of stupid stuff. I know that my Human spends time on hers talking far too much. A lot of the time she's talking to her stupid friend LargeOh who sometimes posts comments on this blog.

Миша Мип (Misha Meep)

Meepie is the so-called "boss dog." Yeah, that's what he says. I get a big kick out of staring at him and wagging my tail till he gets so fed up that he cusses me out and chases me away. I can usually then hop up on the couch or bed and take over his place.

Misha is actually a practitioner of the medical arts. His clients call him "Dr. Meep." When I was a mere little pup I had a baby tooth that didn't want to fall out of my mouth. Meepie pinned me down and worked on it until it came loose. You can check with our Human's friend Large O. Meepie helped cure a skin blemish on her.

I'm studying medicine under Meepie's tutelage. I think that I'm going to specialize in the field of otolaryngology. Fargo lets me (grudgingly) work on his ears.
