Happy Independence Day & Name Game

Happy Independence day everydog! It's getting closer to when there won't be any more stupid fireworks. Hang in there!

Some pups out there are playing the Name Game that Frankie Furter suggested. I thought I'd join in on the fun because I like talking about myself.

A really long time ago, around 1992, my Human started going to dog shows. Back then she didn't have her dog. She had to live vicariously through others. My Human walked around the arena looking at all the dogs. There was one dog in particular that stood out to her. He was the Afghan Hound that I am featuring in this post. His name was Ch. Casbar Turbo-Charge. My Human became friends with that Turbo's humans, and she decided that someday she would have a show dog of her very own.

But she didn't want to get an Afghan Hound.

Lex was the first dog room mate my Human had of her very own. He's half Akita/half Siberian Husky. She decided that Lex needed a friend, so she invited Meepie to move in. Meep's all Sibe, of course. Then there was Fargo. And then me. (Rooie moved in after me.)

I was going to be her show dog. But circumstances beyond both of our control prevented that from happening. However, I did get the name Huricane Akara Turbofire.

Most everywoo knows me by my nickname of Tubey. My Human started calling me that around the time that she started wasting time on the forms of a website called Television Without Pity. Their mascot is an angry little television set called Tubey.

American Gladiators

.

Today we are lying around playing with Cuzes, eating green beans, and watching American Gladiator. A.G. is this fantastic show from back in the late 1980's/early 1990's where humans ran around and rough housed. (NOTE: That stupid Meepie took my 2 big Good Cuzes when I went to the kitchen for a few green beans.)

Get this! There is an American Gladiator named Turbo!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I was thinking that although I've told my Human that she can't get any more huskies (or dogs), that the names of the American Gladiators would be good husky (or dog) names:

Blaze
Cyclone
Dallas
Diamond
Diesel
Elektra
Gemini
Gold
Hawk
Ice
Jazz
Lace
Lace
Laser
Malibu
Nitro
Panther
Rebel
Sabre
Siren
Sky
Storm
Sunny
Tank
Thunder
Titan
Tower
Turbo
Viper
Zap

Turbo Thoughts

.

I was thinking about stuff today while I was waiting for my Human to return with the pastries.

Why aren't there any car makes or models named after dogs? Seriously (siriusly) why not!? A bunch of other stupid animals have car types: Impalas, cougars, jaguars, skylark, rabbits... And they name cars after stupid nonsense words: Integra, Reatta, Escalade...IT'S GOTTA BE A CONSPIRACY!!!!

How many dogs do you see riding around in a car? LOTS!!! How many thunderbirds are riding in cars? NONE!!!

So if we had a car named after Siberian huskies, what type would it be? I'm inclined to go with the Subaru Outback. They're rugged, outdoorsy, not super big or super small. What do you guys think? Please post your suggestions.

Bye Bye Famous Barr

.

Way back a long time ago (today), there used to be a chain of department stores in the St Louis, MO area called Famous Barr. Of course the St Louisans call it "Famous and Barr," but they're always saying stupid things like "fark" for "fork" and "sharts" for "shorts." And when they aren't saying that, they're always asking what high school you went to. (And if you don't believe me, ask my Human's friend Large Oh.)

Well, Famous Barr and a bunch of other stores like Marshall Fields (Chicago), are becoming Macy's. (Stupid humans always subsuming things!!!) I don't know anything really about Macy's, but I hate balloons!!! Does this mean that we will all have to change our names to "Macy's?" Or maybe "Wal-mart?"

I've never been in our local Famous Barr. My Human refuses to claim that I'm a service dog!
