Update

.

(Note this picture was taken last summer.) My Human thought the tree in this picture was dead, but it's not. Each year she always thinks the burr oaks are dead, but they never are. They are just slow to grow leaves.

There was a stupid raccoon behind another burr oad tree. It was hiding, but we saw it. My Human came out to see what was holding our interest. It popped it's head out and my Human said "hi" to it. I yelled at the raccoon that it was stupid and it hid again.

My Human is stupid and so is the computer. My Human said she isn't going to fix our modem for a while. She said that she needs to spend the money on her food and utilities and stupid things like that. I don't know what the big deal is. We have our food and our treats. She can just eat them. Everything else is extra and stupid!

So, I apologize for not blogging as much and making as many comments as I'd like.

I'm Not Scared!

.

The Dyson is stupid. And it's a loud mouth. I'm not scared of it, but I don't see sense in staying put and letting it suck me up! Note that Roo Roo doesn't care where she takes a nap!

So when my Human gets out the stupid Dyson, I go to my box where it can't get me!

But I'm not scared!

Stupid Buster

.

(Note, this is Meeps not Buster in the picture.) There was this stupid dog named Buster who came to visit us this morning. Buster is a pitbull type dog. Very friendly and very stupid. I yelled at him that he was stupid, but he stuck around till my Human left for work. My Human read his tag and called his human who came and got him.

I yelled at Buster that he needed to go home to his human 'cause he couldn't have mine. All the other stupid dogs at my house were nice to Buster. Not the Tube Wolf, though. I don't like to share!

Thisnthat

.

I've got a lot to go over in today's entry. It's not really connected to anything. I just have a lot of random thoughts to mention.

Please make sure that your humans have paid their Turbo Tax for the year. I need all the money I can get to buy cheese and banana chips.

I think global warming is stupid.

My Human is going to buy some leather cleaning stuff to get rid of my pawprints I so thoughtfully left her in the huskymobile.

Our neighbor cattle have been getting closer to our fence. I've yelled at them that they are stupid, but all they say is "moooooooo!"

I think that Don Imus and Al Sharpton are both stupid. In general, all people are stupid.

I'm working up a pilot tv show kind of like Trading Spouses, but in my series dogs are exchanged.

I was listening to NPR's Sunday morning show. The were talking about the death of Don Ho. I was pleased to here that they mentioned that he'd been a guest star on the Brady Bunch.

I need to publish pictures of us sleeping like a lot of others have.

Meepie is stupid. He has been peeing on the door of my crate.

I made Meepie limp the other day. Physician, heal thy self!

We've not seen any turtles this spring.

I had another seizure this morning. And my Human would not give me any cheese!

Hero Husky

.

We heard a news story on the radio about a hero husky named Lena who helped her lost human get founds!

RIP Kurt Vonnegut

My Human has been a fan of Kurt Vonnegut for many years. They even shared the same birthdate (although my Human was born 44 years later).

Not everyone appreciates Mr Vonnegut's style of writing as it wasn't really straightforward. But my Human like him a lot. She even has a few style approaches of his in her (and my) writing. Such as using a number to represent a number (2), rather than spell it out (two).

My Human recommends Breakfast of Champions, Hocus Pocus, and Jailbird.

Mr Vonnegut is now among the former pie eaters of the world.

Human Government Is Stupid!

.

This is the sort of thing that the humans' government gets involved in.

Not only did they decide to change the looks of Woodsy Owl, but also they have explicit instructions on how to get rid of the old Woodsy (see below). I think that the new Woodsy looks stupid. Very stupid!

Destroying Old Woodsy Owl Costumes
- Guidelines

1. Incinerate the complete costume with the oversight of an official USDA Forest Service law enforcement officer*.

2. The entire Woodsy Owl costume including each of the separate pieces is to be destroyed beyond recognition.

* If you do not have access to an official USDA Forest Service law enforcement representative, arrangements will be made for dealing with your costume by contacting the USDA-FS Washington Office at:

Not A Husky Logo!

.

For several weeks I was posting examples of husky logos. I do intend to continue this, but not right now. I do want to share something that is making Niki all full of herself. If you google the words husky logo, she pops up as # 8 on the list of images (as of this morning).

I've told that Niki that it is a mistake and that she's not a logo for anything. She doesn't listen. She just yells, "La la la...# 8 can't hear you!"

Apes to Name Neighboring Trumpeter Swans
By NAFEESA SYEED 04.04.07, 7:57 AM ET

The eight bonobos at the Great Ape Trust of Iowa howled Tuesday as they watched two trumpeter swans dip into a lake for the first time. Who can blame them? Not only will the apes get new neighbors, they'll get a chance to name the rare birds. "They were very excited," said scientist Karyl Swartz. "It's something new in their environment."

Department of Natural Resources officials released the white swans as part of a restoration project that places birds to nest and produce offspring that are then released into the wild.

Trumpeter swans are America's largest waterfowl, weighing up to 35 pounds with an 8-foot wingspan. They are Iowa's only native nesting swan.

Once common across much of the continent, they were hunted for their feathers to near extinction by the late 1800s. The swans now have protected status, and their population has grown with help from nesting projects.

The Great Ape Trust's grounds include 40 acres of lakes and wetlands, making it a perfect spot for the swans. And the birds will give the bonobos at the trust an interesting distraction.

"They're going to be curious about what's going on down here," Swartz said. "They monitor their environment closely."

Bonobos walk on two legs and are the most humanlike in appearance of the great apes. They have sophisticated language skills, a trait they'll demonstrate when asked to name the swans.

Swartz said they'll either use a board that has symbols the apes associate with objects or choose names from a list researchers provide. The apes already use the board to communicate with humans to identify things like location, food and color.

Swartz said after observing the swans, the bonobos could pick a name that they think reflects the birds' behavior. They'll also get photos of the swans to carry around. She said the apes can recognize gender, with the help of a tag collar around the male swan's neck.

The bonobos live at the 230-acre research center with other apes, including chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans. Scientists at the center study ape intelligence and promote conservation of apes in their natural habitats in places like Indonesia and Uganda.

Benjamin Beck, Great Ape Trust's conservation director, said the research center was looking for ways to help in local wildlife programs.

"It ties in so perfectly with so many of our conservation programs around the world," he said.

Beck said the swans feed on invertebrates like spiders and crickets, but the staff will also give them chicken mash and cracked corn daily.

The nesting pairs can't fly away, because their primary feathers are clipped.

Ron Andrews, who coordinates the Department of Natural Resources' trumpeter swan restoration program, said there are 50 pairs in Iowa whose offspring are released into the wild.

The trust's two swans will start nesting in May and hatching will likely occur in June. By October the offspring will start learning to fly and within a year they'll be released.

Andrews said the agency has released about 750 swans to the wild since 1995.

"The public's powerful passion propels the project forward," Andrews said. "We're excited about the new state we're at right now."

Campaign Update

.

I just wanted everyone to know that so far I've raised $65,753,431,875.11 to help me with my bid to become the president of dogcountry! Thanks for the support everyone!

Also, my Human was trying to get a picture of me on Saturday to post for my mask comparison. Roo Roo kept sticking her nose in. See below:

Mask Update

.

I like to keep track of my mask ever since I discovered about a year ago that somebody has been stealing it when I'm not paying attention!
