Manipulation

.

If you have ever wondered how to manipulate your human, here's a suggestion. Of course it works best on humans that are at least as old as mine is. Back in the 1970's, humans' popular music often was essential a story sung over a tune. Many of those songs will be stuck for hours in a human's brain if they are mentioned (Lucille, Thank God I'm A Country Boy, etc).

But there was this one song called Shannon by a human named Henry Gross. The song is about a human boy whose mother is sick, father is gone, and whose dog (Shannon) has floated out to sea.

That song totally doesn't make sense. Is he worried about his mom being sick, or the dog being gone?

Ahh yes. Mom is humming something she says is called "Seasons In The Sun". Is that about Summer? I like seasons in the snow better. I guess we're stuck lisening to that all day.

Holly, if the human boy in the song was not stupid, he'd by sad only about his dog.

ECHO, "Season's in the Sun" is another depressing human song. It's about a dead human friend.

They just don't make songs like that anymore, do they? Maybe that's a good thing. I once went six months with "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" running through my head. Dave Barry once said that, by the end of that song, you're GLAD the ship sank. I never agreed, but after those six months, I was about ready to throw myself in Lake Superior without a life vest.

I listened to this song a lot when my dog Woofwoof died last year. The song was so bad that it dulled the pain of losing my dog :)

But if anyone is brave enough, here is a link for the song. You've been warned.
