Alternative Fuels

woo!

My Human learned yesterday about how some scientists are working with algae as an alternative source of biodiesel. She's pretty interested in it. Apparently, it is more efficient than growing food crops to turn into oil. It takes less square acreage to grow the algae for fuel than corn, for example. 172 litres oil per corn hectacre versus 100,000 litres of oil per algae hectacre! My Human has said that if she actually had money to invest, she'd look into an algae company (after researching it thoroughly). Of course I think that money is better invested in a steady supply of Cuzes (both Good & Bad).

But because I am concerned about the issues that voters may find important, I decided to go to an algae farm for a look see.

I decided to take a closer look, too.

The city of San Francisco is investigating using dog poop as an alternative energy source. No, really.

Blech, Tubey. You look like Ari when she goes investigating in our vernal pools. And now that she's seen you do it, I'll never be able to persuade her not to hop in again. Can I at least tell her you had to take a long, soapy bath afterwards?

Ewwy! that stuff looks very very green and yucky. I am just not an algea swimming type of gal, so I will let you do the alternative fuel research!
Keep up the good work!
