Nicknames

My Human calls me by many, many different names. Of course my registered name is Huricane Akara Turbofire. So she calls me Turbo, of course. But she calls me a bunch of nicknames. Tubey, Tube Wolf, Stinky, Little Guy, Junior, etc... One of my nicknames (Tubey) sort of came from something. My Human spends time reading and posting on a website that has a mascot called Tubey. What is it with humans and their stupid websites?

My Human calls us by our nicknames at least as often as (if not more frequently than) she calls us by our real names.

Lex is Lumpy, Louie, Loopie.

Misha is Meepie, Moopie, Mookie.

Fargo: Cowboy, Barko, Cow Pops.

Aurora: Roo Roo, the Little Girl.

Niki: Noodle, Needle.

I won't write what we call her!

Warmer

It's getting warmer here in the middle of the state of Missouri. We can hear the little frogs peeping and the geese honking. When it's warm enough and my Human is home, she keeps the doors open and we can run in and out of the house as much as we want to. There's a lot of stuff to do outside. And lots to smell. When it's warmer, my Human will put out or little swimming pool. I love getting in it and then playing in the dirt and they running into the house and hopping on the bed!

Meepie's Eye

3 of the 6 of us have blue eyes: Meepie, Aurora, and Niki. Those guys each have 2 blue eyes. While my Human is still under the spell of Springtime allergies, here's a photo of Meepie's eye that she manipulated with Photoshop.

Husky Statue

Apparently there is a high school in Colorado called Florence High School. They wisely have the Husky as their mascot. We read an article tonight about a 10 foot tall steel sculpture that is being created for this school.

Although we definitely applaud this effort, don't you think this sculpture looks a bit like a CAT?

All of Us

My human is not feeling very well today. She said it's the Spring time allergies. So I won't tie up her computer very long. But I did want to show you a couple photos of all of us from the weekend.

Weekend Project

We like to help out around the house. We'd notice that a hole needed to be placed on the Southern side of the house. There really is nothing like a finely crafted crater to make a house into a home.

You can see Aurora and I discussing this hole in the top left photo. Niki is adding her years of experience to the project. Now between us all we have 36 years of excavation experience between us.

Our human excourages our activities. She once lived in a place with an unfinished basement. Once the sewage backed up and we discovered it before she woke up. We quickly ran upstairs and woke her up to tell her about the excitement. She was speechless to be greeted by 4 (Lex, Meepie, Fargo, and me) sewage covered huskies. Just doing our part!

a>My Human brought a bag of white cheddar cheese flavored pop corn home today. All of us except for Fargo sampled it. (Fargo was outside missing out on the fun. He's also allergic to corn so that was probably a good thing.) The first to sample it was Aurora, who always is ready for a taste test. Then Niki got involved. Lex noticed that I wasn't around so he horned in on the action. I caught wind of what was going on and that scared Lex off. Finally, Meepie came inside.

Here's the review:

Aurora: Loved it (But she'll eat anything.)
Niki: Loved it. She was eating out of my Human's hand and not even biting her!
Lex: Loved it. He'll also eat anything first and ask questions later.
Meepie: He seemed to think it was okay. I think he just ate it so that no one else could.
And me, Tubey: I did not like it. I have a very discriminating palate and it did not meet my standards. I sampled it a second time, but only to see if the Human had replaced the pop corn with Cheez-Its or banana chips. She had not, so I left.
We're all a bit tired today. my Human woke up in the middle of the night and opened the door for us go outside to take care of our business. Instead of going back to sleep after encouraging us to come back inside, my Human stayed up for an hour and a half listening to a radio show. How inconsiderate can you get?!

In closing, here is a photo of me standing on the couch letting Lex know that I thought he was behaving inappropriately. That couch doesn't exist any longer because Fargo, Meepie, and Lex ate it.

Those Volatile Grey Ones

We were rudely awoken by a ruckus this morning. Last night our Human moved the refrigerator away from the wall. Our ice cube maker seems to be having a problem. Well, when the fridge was moved, Aurora found a dead mouse underneath it. She ran off with it and kept it all night long.

Eventually we all fell asleep. Niki woke us up yelling at us at 4:45am. (She's been doing this for quite a few days.) That got my Human up to let us go out. Aurora thought that Niki wanted her dried up mouse and clobbered her. My Human got Roo Roo away from Niki, but then Meepie decided to lend assistence to the cause and started applying his own brand of justice to Niki.

Well, the grey ones' squabble ended without any damage being done and we got to run around outside for a while.

We went back to sleep for about another hour.

Husky Logo #1

I've decided each week to feature a logo of a product, company, school, etc that features the Husky.

This week's logo is that of a company by the name of Neon Husky. This fine company creates things that jugglers can juggle that people can see at night!

We give a 6 husky WOOO to this company!

Aurora is Weird

My Human came home for lunch today. She reheated meat loaf and made a vegetable stir fry. She dropped a piece of frozen broccoli on the floor. Aurora ate it and liked it.

She's weird.

Hump Day (Wednesday)

You're probably expecting pictures to go with the title today. Please! We're huskies. We won't succumb to juvenile humor!

We'd really like to get a photograph of all of us in the same picture, but someone has to hold the camera.

My Human doesn't have to go to work today, so we will have her to entertain us. We overheard her telling a friend that she is going to take Niki to have her toenails trimmed. All of the rest of us allow the Human to perform this task on us, but Niki has feet issues. If you touch Niki's feet, you risk having her bite you.

My Human is also going to buy us more food. Maybe Cheez-Its, too.

Pandas

We're all still recovering from not getting to play in the snow (that we didn't have). So, I'm posting some photos of Pandas that my Human has. A few years ago she got obsessed with Panda cams and got these shots. You can see that she also likes photos of Pandas sleeping (it's not just us).

Disappointment

It was supposed to snow. It really was. The stupid weather man was saying six inches! We've been fooled before, so we didn't believe him. But we were still hoping. A casual glance at this photo shows that we were cheated once again. You can see Aurora looking forlornly at the snow. The snow is always deeper on the other side of the fence.

All we got here was just a dusting. It's not even cold enough for it to stick around long enough. My Human was going to take today off from work to play in the snow with us all day. Now it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Snow, please!

As you all know, human's have a contractual obligation to provide Siberian Huskies snow during the winter time. Well, today is the first day of Spring and finally there is a healthy amount of snow in the forecast.

Of course if the snow does not accumulate, we may be forced to seek legal council. Do any of you know any attorneys that may be willing to take on a snow suit? It may have to be pro bone-O work.

Husky Games

Aurora likes to sass us and tell us off. As you can see, she's telling that I need to butt out and let her and Fargo play the famous "Eat Your Face" game. We all (except for Lex and Niki) like to rough house and wrestle. Aurora and I like to leap over the couch and chase each other through the house.

We've tried to wrestle with my Human, but she gets all worked up about our teeth. Once she was zipped up in a sleeping bag in the living room and Fargo started to bite her through the bag. She was trapped and couldn't even roll away. It was great!

Shameful Husky Secrets

To the casual observer, these pictures appear to be cute huskies being lazy. But to me I see evidence of my shameful secret. Notice the undisturbed stuffed animals, books, and even a live gecko. Also notice that there are actually 2 different couches.

Hi, I'm Turbo the Sibe and I'm not destructive. There, I've said it! I have never enjoyed ripping stuffed animals to shreds. Or couches. Or pillows. Or comforters. Lex, Meepie, Fargo, and Aurora have all participated in chaos and destruction.

Let me address the couch first. If you look in the previous entry with Meepie's head sticking out in the couch you will see that that couch is different than the 2 in this entry. Yep, that couch fell victim to husky destruction via Lex, Meepie, and Fargo. The replacement couch is the one on the left in this entry. It is also departed due to the handy work of L, M, & F.

Fargo also likes to remove carpet and linoleum, but he's not done this for a few years.

Lex once removed a huge hunk of drywall.

Meepie has killed feather pillows, phone books, and many stuffed animals.

Aurora loves sinking her teeth into a nice fluffy comforter.

Niki hasn't shown any tendencies in this area yet.

But I ask "WHY AM I CRATED WHEN THE HUMAN LEAVES????" The photo below was a "set up." The Human placed this stuffie in front of me to get a cute picture of the puppy chewing on something. The only thing I enjoy destroying is toilet paper tubes, but Aurora tries to steal them so I can't even enjoy that!

Saturday, Mar 18th, 2006 was Nat'l Corn Dog Day!

We just found out while listening to the Nick Digilio Show on Chicago radio station WGN that Saturday, Mar 18th, 2006 was National Corn Dog Day!

Our Human had her first corn dog just one week ago. And can you believe it? She didn't share with us!

She bought a box of corn dogs today so hope remains alive with us.
