Pandas

We're all still recovering from not getting to play in the snow (that we didn't have). So, I'm posting some photos of Pandas that my Human has. A few years ago she got obsessed with Panda cams and got these shots. You can see that she also likes photos of Pandas sleeping (it's not just us).

Disappointment

It was supposed to snow. It really was. The stupid weather man was saying six inches! We've been fooled before, so we didn't believe him. But we were still hoping. A casual glance at this photo shows that we were cheated once again. You can see Aurora looking forlornly at the snow. The snow is always deeper on the other side of the fence.

All we got here was just a dusting. It's not even cold enough for it to stick around long enough. My Human was going to take today off from work to play in the snow with us all day. Now it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

Snow, please!

weather-3212006As you all know, human's have a contractual obligation to provide Siberian Huskies snow during the winter time. Well, today is the first day of Spring and finally there is a healthy amount of snow in the forecast.

Of course if the snow does not accumulate, we may be forced to seek legal council. Do any of you know any attorneys that may be willing to take on a snow suit? It may have to be pro bone-O work.

Husky Games

Aurora likes to sass us and tell us off. As you can see, she's telling that I need to butt out and let her and Fargo play the famous "Eat Your Face" game. We all (except for Lex and Niki) like to rough house and wrestle. Aurora and I like to leap over the couch and chase each other through the house.

We've tried to wrestle with my Human, but she gets all worked up about our teeth. Once she was zipped up in a sleeping bag in the living room and Fargo started to bite her through the bag. She was trapped and couldn't even roll away. It was great!

Another Indy Production

As Raisa mentioned in a comment, no offense to the feline readers.

Woof Woof's Good Idea

In a comment in my Corn Dog Day entry, Woof Woof inspired me to create this.

Shameful Husky Secrets

To the casual observer, these pictures appear to be cute huskies being lazy. But to me I see evidence of my shameful secret. Notice the undisturbed stuffed animals, books, and even a live gecko. Also notice that there are actually 2 different couches.

Hi, I'm Turbo the Sibe and I'm not destructive. There, I've said it! I have never enjoyed ripping stuffed animals to shreds. Or couches. Or pillows. Or comforters. Lex, Meepie, Fargo, and Aurora have all participated in chaos and destruction.

Let me address the couch first. If you look in the previous entry with Meepie's head sticking out in the couch you will see that that couch is different than the 2 in this entry. Yep, that couch fell victim to husky destruction via Lex, Meepie, and Fargo. The replacement couch is the one on the left in this entry. It is also departed due to the handy work of L, M, & F.

Fargo also likes to remove carpet and linoleum, but he's not done this for a few years.

Lex once removed a huge hunk of drywall.

Meepie has killed feather pillows, phone books, and many stuffed animals.

Aurora loves sinking her teeth into a nice fluffy comforter.

Niki hasn't shown any tendencies in this area yet.

But I ask "WHY AM I CRATED WHEN THE HUMAN LEAVES????" The photo below was a "set up." The Human placed this stuffie in front of me to get a cute picture of the puppy chewing on something. The only thing I enjoy destroying is toilet paper tubes, but Aurora tries to steal them so I can't even enjoy that!

Saturday, Mar 18th, 2006 was Nat'l Corn Dog Day!

We just found out while listening to the Nick Digilio Show on Chicago radio station WGN that Saturday, Mar 18th, 2006 was National Corn Dog Day!

Our Human had her first corn dog just one week ago. And can you believe it? She didn't share with us!

She bought a box of corn dogs today so hope remains alive with us.

Meepie Ain't Got No Body

Apparently my Human did a lot of weird things before I came to live with her. The story on this photo is that my Human took Meepie and Lex for a walk (these were the only dogs that lived with her then. When they got home Meepie lay on the couch. My Human had taken the cushions of before Meepie had gotten on the couch. She wanted to encourage Meeps to get off of the couch, but she didn't ask him. Meepie stayed there and my Human put the cushions around him. This is one of Meepie's favorite pictures.

Look at What Indy Made Us!

The stupid Humans of the world tried to conspire against us so that no one could see this gif!

What's That Cat Doing to Fargo?

Yet another example of things that happen to us that my Human finds amusing!

What Was Her Problem?

We were looking through a stack of old photos that they Human took. I found 2 weird ones from back in the days before I existed. Why do humans do these things to us?

You can tell that Fargo was especially not amused at this turn of events. He applied a bit of justice on Lex for laughing at him.

Burrito!

I almost succeeded in stealing my Human's burrito! Niki was creating a ruckus and the Human got up to let her out. Everyone followed, but me. I stayed behind and grabbed the burrito. I had it completely in my mouth...but then the Human pried my jaws open and took the burrito away from me. I ask you, is that fair?

Let Sleeping Huskies Lie

What is it with Humans? Why do they enjoy taking so many photographs of us while we are sleeping? You can see in this photo Aurora's editorial comment on the subject.

Aurora Found a Spider

My brave friend Aurora was protecting us all from the spider!

Hey! Who Took My Mask?!

I noticed yesterday when I was editing my post that my mask is missing. Whoever the stupid person or thing is that took my mask, s/he was smart enough to do it gradually over time so that I wouldn't notice.

Animals

I was looking for the llamas yesterday so that I could get a picture of them to show you. They were too far away, though. If you look carefully you can see them on the hill. The so-called "Tubey Llama" is the one on the left. You can just barely see his backside. My Human has not given the other one any stupid nicknames.

We live out in the country so we get to see, smell, and hear lots of animals. Last night there was a crazy owl hooting up a storm (that's why it did storm, I think). Meepie would go out on the deck to woo at it. He was trying to talk to it, but the stupid owl didn't seem to know what Meepie was saying.

We also have opossums, racoons, foxes around. A couple nights ago we got to hear coyotes. But one animal that I really hate are woodpeckers. They like to knock on the side of our house! Stupid birds!

Siberian Husky Writers!

After Indy brought the matter to our attention, Raisa formed the Husky Bloggers Ring for those of us of the Siberian Husky persuasion to join. I encourage all Siberian Huskies to join this blog and everyone else to enjoy it. I have the link posted on the side of my blog.

And speaking of Siberian Husky writers, for the past few years we have been enjoying the Zuma's Paw Prints. Zuma is a graduate of the K-9 University of Alaska in Anchorage with a degree in canine journalism. She corresponds from the Iditarod each year educating children on the race. And, get this, the children SEND HER PIZZA!!! If you click on this link, you can see the keyboard that Zuma uses. Each year we send Zuma a fan letter, which she graciously responds to.

I will close with a photo of Fargo from a couple years ago. He was adding content to his Dogster page.

Just 'cause I'm Not Eating It, Doesn't Mean It's Not Mine!

My Human bought some new dog biscuits: Biscuits - Natural Choice Tartar Control. I mentioned in an earlier post that I really don't see the sense in hard biscuits. Where's my Cheez-Its and Banana Chips??????

The Human gave each of us one of these new biscuits. Here's the review: Lex loved it (he'll eat anything). Aurora loved it (she's never turned down food). Niki liked it. Meepie thought it was "okay." Fargo ignored it for a while, but he ate it. I didn't like it and I didn't eat it!

Below is a photo of me and the biscuit. Ultimately Aurora tricked me into leaving it so that Meepie could eat it.

My Human's Husky Hat

I'm tired because of the stupid storm last night, so this will be a short blog entry.

Before I came to live with my Human, she bought a Husky Hat from a company called Nordkyn. They are "The Complete Source for Mushing, Skijoring, Weight-Pulling, Carting, and Packing Equipment"

I don't think that my human was being stupid by wearing that hat. I mean, who wouldn't want to look like a Siberian husky? But I do think she was a little stupid for not looking like a red husky.

I don't understand why she doesn't wear the hat to work everyday. Actually she never wears it!!!! Can you believe that??!!

Lightning is Stupid

We had one of those stupid storms with lightning last night. My Human slept through most of it 'cause she had earplugs in her ears. She didn't offer us any. (Sometimes we like to chew them up.) Everyone gets all worked up about the storm. I have to yell at Lex to tell him that he's stupid. He wants to get next to the Human, but she is MY HUMAN. So I read him the riot act. And guess what happens to me when I do that? Yep, the Human forces me into my crate! Oh the inhumanity incaninity!

And she didn't give me any pizza tonight!

Here's a photo of Lex moping.

The Latest Snooze

We have some really tall windows in our living room. We all like sleeping in the sunshine, but that stupid sun keeps moving.

Here's a photo of Aurora sleeping in the ever shifting sunshine. Niki is looking at the camera. And that's Lex in the corner.

Dig

We like to dig. We have a couple different areas at our house that we get to run around in. The area just off of our deck is where we spend most of our time. After we dig holes there, our Human will often refill our holes with the dirt that we so delicately removed. Can you believe that?! She does not always give our work the respect it deserves.

The above photo was taken in the other area that we get to run around in and dig in. That's Aurora and me sniffing before digging. My human never goes refills our holes there. Get this, under the dirt there are these things called moles that have tunnels! I've never seen one, but Meepie said that he's killed one before.

I killed a mouse once. I put my paw on it GENTLY and it just keeled over and died.

That stupid Lex once brought a dead opossum into the house at 2 in the morning. Our human was not happy about that!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Any time that we shed we bring joy to my Human. And, pup, is she feeling joyous right now! The fluff in the above photo was donated by Lex. She brushed him for about 15 minutes tonight.

One of the greatest things about having 6 of us is that each of us sheds at his or her own separate time frame. So there is continuous fluff for several weeks. Yea!

My Human is saving the fluff to have it spun into yarn. She'll be able to make something nice and soft out of it.

Below is a photo of me and my nemesis, the Dyson Animal.

Happy Birthday to Me!!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!
Happy Birthday to Me!
Happy Birthday, Dear Tubey!
Happy Birthday to Me!

Yes, today is my birthday! I'm 3 today. Yea Me! My human said that she's going to take me to the doggie bakery today. I hope everyone has a good day today, 'cause it's my birthday!

In honor of my birthday, below is one of the first photos my Human took of me. I'm on the couch next to my friend Fargo. I was three months old.

Human Humor

My Human made this cartoon a few years ago. She thinks she's so funny!

I remember episode 169 (the Cartoon) of Seinfeld when Elaine thought she was so clever and original with a cartoon she sent to the New Yorker that had ripped off Ziggy. My Human is just as clever and original as Elaine.

My Namesake

You might be saying, "Hey, that's a funny looking husky!" Well, it isn't a husky. I was named after this Afghan hound. My Human knew his humans, and she really liked their show dog, Ch. Casbar Turbo-Charge.

When my Human got me I was supposed to be a show dog, but circumstances beyond our control nixed that. My registered name is Huricane Akara Turbofire. But of course you can call me Turbo or Tubey.

Stupid Human Snack

We've seen commercials on that TV thing that really sets my Human off. They are for a product called "Smuckers Uncrustables." My Human thinks that they are a really stupid product. She'll squack about them to anyone unfortunate enough to listen to her.

Humans are lazy so we're not surprised that this product exists. How long would it take them to make a pb&j sandwich from scratch? When we've watched our human do this, it will take a minute tops. But to eat these stupid things you have to thaw them for an hour. Then the instructions say you should eat them within 8 to 10 hours. Why don't the human's just eat them frozen???

I don't think that I'd like them, but Aurora (the fruit & cake eater) said she thinks they'd be great!

Niki, the Oldest and the Newest

Niki has lived with us for about a month. She is 13 years old. When she first came to live with us she liked to sleep in my crate. I didn't mind sharing. I'm a gentleman that way.

Like Aurora, Niki also likes to talk too much!

Fargo North Dogkota, CGC

Fargo is my best friend. He went to school and became a "Canine Good Citizen." He is also fluent in that weird human language that they are always squalking in.

(Fargo here. I have to interrupt this blog to point out that I like Tubey, but he doesn't always know when to quit. Take that whole Lex thing. We've all told Tubey that he needs to knock it off. He's annoying not only Lex, but all of us. And about him wanting to be an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist: I'm not quite the willing patient as he would lead you to believe.)

Миша Мип (Misha Meep)

Meepie is the so-called "boss dog." Yeah, that's what he says. I get a big kick out of staring at him and wagging my tail till he gets so fed up that he cusses me out and chases me away. I can usually then hop up on the couch or bed and take over his place.

Misha is actually a practitioner of the medical arts. His clients call him "Dr. Meep." When I was a mere little pup I had a baby tooth that didn't want to fall out of my mouth. Meepie pinned me down and worked on it until it came loose. You can check with our Human's friend Large O. Meepie helped cure a skin blemish on her.

I'm studying medicine under Meepie's tutelage. I think that I'm going to specialize in the field of otolaryngology. Fargo lets me (grudgingly) work on his ears.

Lex...

Misha Meep and my Human said that I should try to be nicer to Lex. But I don't like him. He never plays with me. He mopes all day and night. He prefers having his face buried in a book to having fun with the rest of us.

He's different. And by different I mean that he's not a pure Siberian husky like the rest of us. He's half Akita half Sibe. So I think that means he's half as good as I am.

When I'm mean to him the human will throw me in my crate. Yikes! She caught me typing this, so I better head to the box.

Introducing Aurora

Aurora has lived with us for about a year and a half. I like her a lot because she plays with me a lot. One of her hobbies is chewing holes in the middle of sheets, blankets, and comforters.

She has her flaws, though. She talks TOO MUCH, and she likes Lex. I've told her that Lex isn't any fun, but she still tries to play with him.

Aurora (or Roo Roo as we call her) loves fruit and cake combined. I'd say that her favorite snack is Raspberry Zingers.

I ♥ Cheez-It's

I mentioned in my profile that I like Cheez-It® Baked Snack Crackers. They are one of my favorite snacks. I also like banana chips.

I don't like hard dog biscuits. What's the story with those????

The Poop Man Cometh

Misha Meep told me that today is Wednesday. I know that means that the Poop Man is coming for a visit. Who is the Poop Man? He is the guy who comes over once a week and picks up all of our poop and takes it away someplace. And then each week we make more poop for him. I guess it's a "give and take" relationship. What we get out of the deal is a yard free of poop for us to run around in.

Our human took the photo on this blog entry in 2003. We were in the yard the Poop Man cleans. For some reason it never snows any more.
